UMUARAMA, BRAZIL – SEPTEMBER, 2017 On 26 September 2017, 6-year-old Tábata Crespilho da Rosa went to school accompanied by her older brother, as she does every weekday. Her brother left her at the school entrance gate. That was the last time she was seen alive. When the police arrived at his home, he confessed that he had kidnapped the girl, had sex with her and killed her. He had to be taken by a security escort to a police station in another town because local people tried to break into the police station and lynch him.
Da Silva was sentenced to 41 years in prison for this crime. It was not the first time he had committed a similar act.
