Carlos Hathcock was a highly skilled American sniper who served in the Vietnam War. He was credited with 93 confirmed kills during his time in Vietnam and was known for his patience, accuracy, and bravery.
One of Hathcock’s most legendary feats occurred when he volunteered for a mission to take out an NVA General who was stationed in an enemy headquarters.
The mission required Hathcock to crawl for three days across a 2,000-meter open field while avoiding detection by enemy patrols.
Hathcock was able to move only inches at a time and had to be extremelycareful not to be seen or heard. He had to remain still for hours at a time while enemy troops searched for snipers in the area.
After crawling for three days, Hathcock finally reached his destination and was able to take out the NVA General with a single shot.I was told that in Sniper’s training course, the first law is You must have patience.
Second law you must have patience, even if the enemy pisses on your camouflaged position. Third law, go back to first and second laws. An enemy’s sniper is the most feared soldier.
