Fossilized bones of what is believed to be the largest creature ever to walk the Earth were discovered in the deserts of Argentina by a local farmer.

Based on the size of the dinosaur’s femur bones, the animal is estimated to have been about 40 meters long and 20 meters tall—roughly the height of a seven-story building. Its weight is believed to have been around 77 tons, which is equivalent to 14 African elephants. That makes it seven tons heavier than the previous record-holder, the Argentinosaurus.

Scientists believe the discovered fossils belong to a new species of titanosaur—a group of herbivorous dinosaurs that lived toward the end of the Cretaceous period.

This giant plant-eating dinosaur is thought to have roamed the forests of Patagonia about 95 to 100 million years ago, based on the age of the rock layer in which the fossils were found.
