RIP PFC Jacob Tracy ! your service and your life will always be remembered and appreciated by myself, as well as all my other Brothers and Sisters in arms! You truly made the ultimate sacrifice that will always be appreciated and remembered by all of us !
May your family as well understand that we appreciate their service as well, as that’s what a military family does ! They represent our countries service as well! This is the actual story about PFC Jacob Tracy!
I always remember PFC Jacob Tracy who made the ultimate sacrifice 6/18/07. He was in a convoy and they hit an IED. Jacob sustained injuries that we knew he wasn’t gonna survive his injuries. His mother Sheila and father Don called the ICU at Balad AB, Iraq on Father’s Day. Jacobs mother asked me how was Jacob doing and I gave the phone to the physician and he gave her an update on Jacobs condition?
I was Jacobs nurse and his Mother asked me to take the phone over to Jacobs ear and tell him mommy loves him. I told Jacob that mommy loves you a few times and I hope to god Jacob heard me. Everyone in that room was crying.I returned to work the next night and Jacob had died.
Memorial Day is Jacobs day and I will never forget him or any other soldiers, marines or airman I had taken care of in Iraq. I did my best to save Jacob hoping he’d make it to Germany and then Illinois to be reunited with his family. I will never forget Jacob and he’s my hero. I will remember him till the day I die. I wish every day that his outcome would’ve been different.
