Heroes Behind The Line is pleased to announce the addition of Andrea Welch Fisher to our Heroes Board.

The board provides leadership for carrying out the mission of HBL. Help us in welcoming Andrea, and check out her biography below.

Andrea Fisher is currently the Survivor Outreach Services Coordinator providing long term support to our military families of the fallen in Central and Southern Arkansas. Prior to this position, she served as the Executive Director of the ALS Association of Arkansas, Family Assistance Center Coordinator supporting deployed families and in 2010-2011 she was deployed to Balad, Iraq as a Department of Defense Civilian working for the United Services Organization (USO). She has over 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, event coordination and corporate retail management. Ms. Fisher received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Oklahoma State University in 2005 and in 2013, her Masters in Nonprofit Management from Capella University.

​Ms. Fisher stays very involved in her community while supporting our military – she serves on the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Veterans Cemetery Foundation, the Advisory Board for Stars and Stripes Association, is an Associate Member of the Marine Corps League, is a Patriot Guard Rider, and a member of the Battlin’ Betties. She coordinates the annual POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony at the State Capitol in Little Rock, the annual wreath laying ceremony at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, the annual Arkansas Bikers Backing our Blue statewide motorcycle ride, volunteered as the Family Readiness Group (FRG) Leader for her husband’s unit while they were deployed and served as the Honorary Commander for the 19th Aerospace Medicine Squadron at Little Rock Air Force Base from 2015-2016.

​In October 2015, Ms. Fisher was presented the Arkansas Exceptional Service Medal by the Arkansas National Guard and at the same time, the only female civilian in Arkansas to receive the Order of St Maurice Medal –the highest medal awarded to a civilian for their continued dedication to the military.

​Ms. Fisher is the proud granddaughter of CWO Austin Knapp, WWII POW, daughter of CPL Robert Welch, USMC Vietnam Combat Veteran and wife of SFC Justin Fisher currently serving his 20th year with the 39th IBCT on Camp Robinson. She and her husband have one son, Malik, and reside in Vilonia, Arkansas.
