Fast forward to today, and you can check out the Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness in San Juan County, New Mexico. It covers a massive 45,000 acres and is packed with some of the best fossil records from that wild time in Earth’s history—specifically, the Cretaceous-Paleogene boundary.
The place is filled with these super cool rock formations and amazing fossil beds, giving us a rare chance to peek into how things transitioned from the Mesozoic Era to the Cenozoic Era.
It’s pretty much a geological goldmine for anyone wanting to dive into our planet’s ancient past!
