This picture shows four veterans of four different American wars. The picture was taken in the mid 1940s.

In the top left is Pearl Perry Johnson, a veteran of the Second World War.
Next to him stands Hilyeard H. Young, a veteran of the First World War.
In the bottom left sits Oscar P. Ruth, a veteran of the Spanish-American War.
And next to him sits Andrew Jackson Everist, a veteran of the U.S. Civil War.

Everist died on January 8, 1945, at the age of 95.

The four men were all from a small town in Oklahoma called Geary. They each fought in very different American wars, spanning 80 years from the 1860s to the 1940s.
