A VIDEO clip of abuse, involving a young girl has been leaked on various social media platforms, including Facebook and Whats App.
The video which has gone viral has sparked debate on whether it is right for citizens to take justice in their own hands and sort out criminals.
In the video a young girl aged between 15 and 20 has been caught stealing from a home.
The aggrieved owners of the home roll her in mud and paint her with what looks like used oil before setting her free in bid to humiliate her.
However the action has sparked mixed feelings with some condemning the act and calling it inhumane.
Meanwhile others have welcomed the action stating that thieves are criminals and should be treated as such.

But what sort of cruelty and barbaric bevior is that? Zambians really amaze me, they wont help a person being robbed day light even if they see the thief. They wont help someone being attacked even if he?she cries for help. They call right wrong and wrong right. Honestly how can someone do such a thing to another even if they ve done you wrong?
What did she do? This kind of humiliation can lead to the girl even committing suicide! I couldn’t watch till end, sure a well dressed gentleman I think he even has a job and well respected in the community doing this? 🤦♂️
That man should have used glue not wood oil. How does a cricket jump a wallfence to find itself in another mans compound. Uncles did a good job there enjoyed myself watching. This is what we need in society. We need more good strong men like that. Its a shame he had to get his hands dirty.
